Tomoyo's feelings

does Tomoyo love Sakura as a friend or more than that? i mean i love Tomoyo but i don't quite understand her.

Well Tomoyo, Loves Sakura. But she is happy to let Sakura pick the one for her, even if it may not be Tomoyo herself, as long as Sakura is happy, then Tomoyo is happy.

So yes, Tomoyo loves Sakura more then just a friend, but don't let that stop you from liking her. It what make's her Tomoyo after all.

Also, what else don't you understand about Tomoyo? And to let you know, I'm not bashing.

Tomoyo did indeed love Sakura more than a friend, and expressed this a few times in the manga and slightly less in the anime. However, Tomoyo carries a somewhat unique sort of love for Sakura, one that exceeds physical boundries. For instance, when she figured out Syaoran's feelings towards Sakura, she did not reveal hostility, or sadness, in fact - she contributed somewhat in setting them up. It's as though she knew it could never be. She was happy as long as Sakura was happy. She makes for a real wonderful friend. Her mother also expressed similar love for Nadeshiko, Sakura's mother.

Some people find this relationship odd, as firstly, Tomoyo is related to Sakura, being a second-cousin. However - they are not close in family ties, so the relationship gears towards more of a friendship. Also, cousins (especially second) aren't very close in bloodline. And thirdly, Sakura and Tomoyo's relationship was never even close to being or potentially becoming sexual. Then there's the issue for some people as Tomoto carrying an attraction towards someone of the same gender, which for me, and for many others I'm sure, isn't an issue at all. But those are out of this conversation.

CLAMP is revealing different and ideal sorts of love, and Tomoyo displays this brilliantly.
