For me, I would definetly suggest Fruits Basket, Stawberry Marshmallow, Claymore, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, Ouran High School Host Club, Naruto, Spicy Pink, Random Walk, Fushigi Yuugi, Fushigi Genbu Kaiden, Red River, Zettai Kareshi

Ghost Hound, Gundam 00, These two are at least a must

Skip Beat, Shugo Chara, DegrayMan, Nabari No Ou

I have another one, but I'm not sure if I could post that one. Its kinda shoen-ai ish

Manga Recommendation
Basara- if you are looking for a great storyline with beautiful wonderful characters then this is the series for you

Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaidena- a serious, adventure manga bordering shojo and josei. The story is awesome.
Zettai Kareshi- s probably one of my favourites by Yuu Watase too. the story is so cute with the triangle love and night is just so adorable<3

Fruits Basket--both the anime and manga are good. And I haven't read much manga or watched tons of animes. >.<

Manga recommendations:

Count Cain/Godchild definitely. Really wonderful story but really sad. I was actually tearing up by the end of the manga, and I never tear up for any book, nevermind manga ^_^ oh, and WARNING: Goriness ensues :P I'm not joking with this. It's REALLY gory. If you have a faint heart or stomach, be careful with reading this :3 But the plotline makes up for the scary parts. It touches upon every genre, but the mystery is genuine and the end completely threw me off. One of Kaori Yuki's best works :D

Anime recommendations:

Ouran High School Host Club of course. It's one of the few animes that, for me, lives up to the manga and has a separate ending that doesn't completely disappoint me :D It's hilarious and heartwarming and really cute~ There is no way you cannot love atleast one of the Hosts in the anime, and crazy adventures and declarations abound :D I would also highly recommend reading the manga as well, for more adventures with the Host Club :)

Lol most of mine have already been said, but I'll add Kamichama Karin.
It's really cute.

I'd suggest Meru Peri. It's a romance that's like a Japanese version of Snow white or the Frog Prince.
