CCS new Blu-ray Box [Update as of 04/18/2009 : HQ scans]

Those covers are very cute! And a few of them do have a fan-art feel to them.

@CS, Hm... strange how the "actual" disc-cover has a bigger picture than the Vol-cover ^^;;

I wondered too if it was fine to post them here but I somehow hardly imagined myself opening another thread solely about it and also, I posted them as a comparison, to give an idea of how does the previous DVD boxes looks to the people who visited this thread.
When we got pictures of the Blue-ray boxes, it would be nice to see the difference '4 years later' ^^

I wonder if is because I got use to the old version or that I am just picky about the drawing ^^;;; But somehow, I STILL prefer the previous anime-drawing version of Sakura over the new one [Both 2005, 2009 version]
Hm... don't know how I should express my thought she just give out a different aura around her that I don't specifically like as much as I had before

I want it T_T I really really want it! I was thrilled that I got to watch my official pioneer dvds, all of them...on my parents 50" plasma, but to watch these would be even better! The quality! x_x But I won't for two reasons...one, TOO EXPENSIVE, and two, my morals will NOT allow me to pay for an anime series that would cost me the same amount as buying a car -_-

You saying this makes me think that CLAMP may have shared info to the company doing this, that this may be the last year for Tsubasa...bring out CCS merch, right before the series ends. They want to bring in extra money, before Tsubasa is finished.

Well, the pictures ARE a disappointment: for the people who saw my previous posts of the DVD boxes released in 2003 (previous page of this thread), you must have all recognized the art...
That said, let's remember this release is about the quality of the anime episodes and also the conversion to 16:9 format, more then new illustrations.

Well, we have to consider those are pics posted by customers in Amazon.jp, and I find it VERY WEIRD that all those old pics were conveniently cut off exactly were the japanese text was in the 2003 edition, and the new text and new font printed right above...so those might actually be fakes...

Actually, now that you mentioned it [and I look more closely at the 2003 version], they are as you said quite suspicious

To those who are interested to know how the Blu-Ray Version of CCS looks like, QTS has a torrent for the Opening, Ending, and the first few episodes of CCS.

Oh, and it's 4:3, not 16:9 as Amazon reported previously Still looks great from what I've seen. (Note: Each episode has a size of 1.7 gig, so beware if you're low on space).

Kyoki: The openings aren't as big, the one that I downloaded takes about 160 MB

Wow! That is still a lot, but less than what I thought. I'll have to download it later then. :) I can't wait to see all the pretties! XD

In the end.... They are REALLY the real cover for the blue-ray box ^^;;
